Frequently Asked Questions

Is this battery compatible with my RC car/boat?

Yes, if your vehicle uses a 7.4V (2S) battery with a JST plug and the battery bay fits 70 × 38 × 18mm. Check these three things before ordering: voltage (7.4V/2S), bay dimensions, and plug type (JST red 3-pin). If all three match, it will fit.

Can I charge this with a LiPo balance charger?

No. This is a Li-ion battery, not LiPo. It charges exclusively via the included USB-A cable into any 5V USB port. Do NOT connect it to a LiPo balance charger — it will not work and may damage the pack.

How long does it take to fully charge?

Approximately 2–3 hours when using a 5V/1A USB source (most phone adapters). Slightly faster with a 5V/2A adapter. You can charge it from a phone charger, laptop, power bank, or car USB port.

What is the difference between this Li-ion battery and a LiPo battery?

Three key differences: 1) Charging method — this battery uses USB fixed-voltage charging, LiPo requires a balance charger. 2) Cell chemistry — Li-ion is more tolerant of partial discharges, making it more forgiving for casual/toy use. 3) Energy density — LiPo is lighter and higher capacity per gram, but requires more careful handling. For toy-grade RC cars and boats, this Li-ion pack is the right choice.

Will this work in a high-performance RC racing car?

Not recommended. This is a 15C (45A) pack designed for toy-grade and entry-level RC vehicles (1/10, 1/12, 1/16 scale) and casual play. High-performance racing cars typically draw 50–100A+ sustained and use dedicated LiPo packs.

What comes in the box?

2× PCEONAMP 7.4V 3000mAh 2S Li-ion batteries (JST plug), 2× USB-A charging cables, 1× user manual.

How long will the battery last with normal use?

Under normal toy-grade RC use (light to moderate throttle), expect 200–300 charge cycles before noticeable capacity fade. Avoid leaving the battery in the vehicle for extended periods when not in use, and store at partial charge (40–60%) for best long-term health.

Is this safe for children to use?

Yes, this battery is designed for children’s RC vehicles (ages 6–14). The Li-ion chemistry is inherently more stable than LiPo (no risk of thermal runaway under normal use). However, children should not open, cut, or modify the battery. If the pack shows swelling, heat, or damage during charging, discontinue use immediately.
