Frequently Asked Questions

Is this battery compatible with my RC plane or helicopter?

Yes, if your aircraft uses a 4S (14.8V) battery with an XT60 plug and the battery bay fits 140 × 42 × 33mm. Specifically designed for mid-to-large fixed-wing RC planes (700mm–1200mm wingspan), 450-class RC helicopters, medium gliders, and EDF (ducted-fan) jets. Verify voltage, bay dimensions, and plug type before ordering.

What does XT60 mean? Is it the same as XT30, Deans T, or 4mm Bullet?

XT60 is a two-pin connector with a center tab (typically yellow). It is NOT interchangeable with XT30 (smaller), Deans T (T-shaped), 4mm Bullet (banana-style pins), IC3 (three-pin), or any other plug type. Check your aircraft’s original plug or manual to confirm it is XT60 before ordering.

Can I charge this with a standard LiPo balance charger?

Yes. This is a genuine 4S LiPo battery. It charges via the JST-XH balance lead using a standard 4S LiPo balance charger. Recommended charge rate: 1C (5A) for daily use, up to 2C (10A) for quick turnaround. The 10AWG leads handle the current comfortably. Always charge on a fireproof surface and never leave unattended.

How long does it take to fully charge?

At 1C (5A), approximately 60 minutes. At 2C (10A), approximately 30 minutes. Use a charger rated for 4S (up to 16.8V). Do not use a Li-ion USB charger or a balance charger set to fewer than 4 cells.

What does 35C discharge mean? Can I push it harder for short bursts?

35C means this pack safely sustains approximately 175A continuous (5000mAh × 35C). Most quality LiPo packs tolerate short 3–5 second bursts at 1.5–2× the C rating (up to ~260–350A) for aggressive takeoff or full-throttle pull-ups. For sustained high-current use (EDF jets in cruise, 450 heli at full throttle), we recommend staying at or below 35C to protect cycle life.

How many charge cycles can I expect?

Under normal use with proper practices (avoid deep discharge below 12.6V, store at 40–60% charge), expect up to 350 cycles before noticeable capacity fade. Avoid storing fully charged or fully drained for extended periods.

Can I use this battery for F3A aerobatic competition?

No. F3A aircraft typically use 5S (18.5V) batteries, often 2 packs wired in parallel for extended capacity and stable discharge. This is a 4S (14.8V) pack — the voltage is incompatible. For F3A, look for a 5S 4400–5000mAh 35C+ pack with a matching connector.

Is this suitable for 550+ helicopters or high-performance EDF jets?

It handles 450-class helicopters and mid-size EDF jets well. For sustained full-throttle operation on 550+ helicopters or large EDF jets drawing 200A+ continuously, consider stepping up to our 5S 5000mAh 35C or 6S 5500mAh 45C packs for higher sustained current and voltage.

What comes in the box?

2× 4S 5000mAh 14.8V 35C LiPo batteries (XT60 plug, JST-XH balance lead, 10AWG leads), 1× LiPo storage box, 1× user manual.
