Frequently Asked Questions

Is this battery compatible with my large fixed-wing plane or 450/550 helicopter?

es, if your aircraft uses a 6S (22.2V) battery with an XT60 plug and the battery bay fits 158 × 45 × 49mm. Specifically designed for large fixed-wing RC planes (800mm–1500mm wingspan), 450 and 550-class RC helicopters, EDF (ducted-fan) jet aircraft, and medium gliders. Verify voltage, bay dimensions, and plug type before ordering.

What does XT60 mean? Is it the same as XT30, Deans T, IC3, or 4mm Bullet?

XT60 is a two-pin connector with a center tab (typically yellow). It is NOT interchangeable with XT30 (smaller), Deans T (T-shaped), IC3 (three-pin), 4mm Bullet (banana-style pins), or any other plug type. Check your aircraft’s original plug or manual to confirm it is XT60 before ordering.

What does 45C discharge mean? Can I push it harder for short bursts?

45C means this pack safely sustains approximately 247A continuous (5500mAh × 45C). Most quality LiPo packs tolerate short 3–5 second bursts at 1.5–2× the C rating (up to ~370–495A) for aggressive takeoff, full-throttle pull-ups, or high-G maneuvers. For sustained high-current use (550 heli at full throttle, large EDF jets in cruise), we recommend staying at or below 45C to protect cycle life.

How does the 45C rating compare to a 35C pack of the same capacity?

A 45C 5500mAh pack sustains ~247A continuous, versus ~192A for a 35C pack. In practical terms, the 45C pack handles heavier ESC loads, larger EDF motors, and full-throttle 550 heli operation with less voltage sag and less cell heating. If your aircraft draws over 200A sustained, 45C is the safer choice.

Can I charge this with a standard LiPo balance charger?

Yes. This is a genuine 6S LiPo battery. It charges via the JST-XH balance lead using a standard 6S LiPo balance charger. Recommended charge rate: 1C (5.5A) for daily use, up to 2C (11A) for quick turnaround. The 10AWG leads handle the current comfortably. Always charge on a fireproof surface and never leave unattended.

How long does it take to fully charge?

At 1C (5.5A), approximately 60 minutes. At 2C (11A), approximately 30 minutes. Use a charger rated for 6S (up to 25.2V). Do not use a Li-ion USB charger or a balance charger set to fewer than 6 cells.

How many charge cycles can I expect?

Under normal use with proper practices (avoid deep discharge below 19.8V, store at 40–60% charge), expect up to 350 cycles before noticeable capacity fade. In heavy competition or daily full-throttle use, capacity fade may arrive sooner — plan on replacing packs every 100–150 heavy-use cycles.

Can I use this battery for F3A aerobatic competition?

No. F3A aircraft typically use 5S (18.5V) batteries, often 2 packs wired in series (5S + 5S = 10S / 33V). This is a 6S (22.2V) single pack — the voltage configuration is different. For F3A, look for a 5S 5000mAh 35C+ pack with a matching 4mm Bullet or XT60 connector.

Is this suitable for very large EDF jets or 700+ helicopters?

It handles 550-class helicopters and mid-to-large EDF jets well. For 700+ helicopters or very large EDF jets drawing 300A+ continuously, consider stepping up to a higher-capacity 6S pack (6600mAh+) or a 7S/8S configuration for more voltage headroom.
