7.4V 1150mAh 2S LiPo Battery 40C, Molex
• Specifications: 54 × 29 × 18mm / 2.10 × 1.14 × 0.69in; 52g / 1.83oz; 1150mAh; 7.4V (2S LiPo); 40C burst / 20C continuous discharge; Molex plug.
• Designed for FMS FCX24 Atlas: This 2S 1150mAh LiPo battery is the maximum-capacity option for the FMS FCX24 Atlas (1/24-scale RC rock crawler). The 40C burst rating (~46A peak) and 20C continuous rating (~23A sustained) deliver the highest sustained current in our FCX24 Molex line, handling aggressive climbs, rock crawling, and full-throttle on sand or gravel with minimal voltage sag.
• Also Compatible With: Any 1/24-scale RC crawler, buggy, or truggy that uses a 7.4V (2S) LiPo pack with a Molex connector and a battery bay fitting 54 × 29 × 18mm. Not suitable for 1/18 or 1/10 scale vehicles — the dimensions and plug type do not match.
• 1150mAh vs 750mAh vs 420mAh: All three packs use the same Molex plug and are designed for the FMS FCX24 Atlas. The 1150mAh pack (54 × 29 × 18mm, 52g, 40C) offers the longest run time and highest sustained current. The 750mAh pack (43 × 24 × 15mm, 33g, 40C) is a mid-range option. The 420mAh pack (41 × 20 × 15mm, 23g, 25C) is the lightest, most compact option. Choose 1150mAh for maximum run time and power.
• FCX24 Atlas vs SCX24: The FMS FCX24 Atlas and the AXIAL SCX24 are two competing 1/24-scale RC crawlers. The FCX24 uses a Molex plug; the SCX24 uses a PH2.0 plug. Even if dimensions are similar, the connectors are NOT interchangeable. Verify your car's plug type before ordering.
⚠️ Before Ordering — Verify 2 Things:
• 1) Your RC car's battery bay fits 54 × 29 × 18mm (including Molex plug clearance).
• 2) The battery plug is Molex (two-pin, standard Molex housing). If either doesn't match, this pack will not fit without an adapter.
• Package: 2× 2S 1150mAh 7.4V 40C LiPo batteries (Molex plug), 1× USB charger cable, 1× retail carton, 1× user manual.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this battery compatible with the FMS FCX24 Atlas?
Yes. This 2S 1150mAh 7.4V LiPo battery with a Molex plug is the maximum-capacity option for the FMS FCX24 Atlas (1/24-scale RC rock crawler). The 7.4V voltage, Molex plug, and 54 × 29 × 18mm dimensions are designed to fit the FCX24’s battery bay. No modification needed.
How does this 1150mAh battery compare to the 750mAh and 420mAh Molex versions?
All three packs use the same Molex plug, the same 7.4V voltage, and are designed for the FMS FCX24 Atlas. The differences are capacity, dimensions, weight, and C rating. This 1150mAh pack is 54 × 29 × 18mm, weighs 52g, and is rated 40C burst / 20C continuous (~23A sustained). The 750mAh pack is 43 × 24 × 15mm, weighs 33g, and is rated 40C / 20C (~15A sustained). The 420mAh pack is 41 × 20 × 15mm, weighs 23g, and is rated 25C (~10.5A sustained). In practical terms, the 1150mAh gives you the longest run time and the highest sustained current of the three. Choose 1150mAh for maximum power and endurance. Choose 750mAh for a mid-range balance. Choose 420mAh for the lightest, most compact option.
Is this battery compatible with the AXIAL SCX24?
No. The SCX24 uses a PH2.0 connector, not a Molex plug. Even though both are 1/24-scale RC crawlers, the plug type and pin spacing are different. For the SCX24, order our 2S 660mAh or 2S 1150mAh PH2.0 versions instead.
What is a Molex plug? How is it different from PH2.0, JST, or XT30?
Molex on this pack is a two-pin connector with a standard Molex housing. It is NOT interchangeable with PH2.0 (2.0mm pin pitch, narrower housing), JST (wider housing, different pin spacing), PH2.54 (wider 2.54mm pitch), XT30 (larger two-pin with different shape), or any other plug type. Remove the stock battery from your car, look at the plug housing shape and pin spacing, and match it to the plug on this pack before ordering.
What does 40C burst / 20C continuous mean for this battery?
40C burst means the pack can safely deliver approximately 46A for short durations (3–5 seconds) during aggressive climbs or full-throttle bursts. 20C continuous means it safely sustains approximately 23A during normal crawling and driving. For a 1/24-scale toy-grade RC crawler like the FCX24 Atlas, this is the highest sustained current in our Molex line and comfortably covers the draw of the stock ESC and motor with headroom for upgraded ESCs.
How do I charge this battery?
This pack includes a USB charger cable. Plug one end into a USB power source (wall adapter, power bank, or PC USB port rated 5V / 1A minimum) and the other into the car’s charging port or directly into the battery’s Molex plug. Full charge at 1C (~1.15A) takes approximately 60 minutes. Do not leave unattended while charging.
Can I charge this with a LiPo balance charger instead of the USB cable?
No. This is a 2S toy-grade LiPo pack with a Molex plug, not a balance-lead LiPo battery. A standard 2S LiPo balance charger (with JST-XH or XT60 leads) will not fit the Molex connector on this pack. Use the included USB charger cable.
How long does the battery last per charge during actual driving?
A 1150mAh 2S pack at 20C continuous (~23A) will last roughly 8–18 minutes of mixed driving depending on terrain, motor load, and throttle usage. On flat ground with moderate throttle, expect the longer end; on continuous rock crawling, sand, or full-throttle on inclines, expect the shorter end. If the pack drains in under 4 minutes consistently, contact us for a warranty check.
How many charge cycles can I expect?
Under normal use with proper practices (avoid deep discharge below 6.0V, store at 40–60% charge), expect up to 200 cycles before noticeable capacity fade. For daily toy use, this translates to roughly 6–12 months of regular play. If your pack is still holding charge past 150 cycles, it is performing within spec.
Can I use this battery in other RC cars?
Yes, if the vehicle uses a 7.4V (2S) LiPo battery with a Molex connector and the battery bay fits 54 × 29 × 18mm. It works with other 1/24-scale toy crawlers, buggies, and truggies that use a Molex plug. It is NOT suitable for 1/18 or 1/10 scale vehicles — the dimensions and plug type do not match.
Is it safe to leave the battery in the car when not in use?
For short periods (same day), yes. For overnight or longer storage, remove the battery from the car and store it at 40–60% charge in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Do not store fully charged or fully drained for extended periods — both accelerate capacity fade.
