22.2V 16000mAh 6S LiPo Battery, 18C, XT90S
Frequently Asked Questions
What drone platforms is this 22.2V 16000mAh battery designed for?
At 190 × 73 × 60mm and 1743g, this pack is built for medium-to-large 6S industrial drone platforms — typically 8"–12" class quad, hexa, or octocopter builds. The XT90S plug connects directly to standard 6S ESCs with XT90/XT90S input.
Common fits include agricultural spraying, mapping, inspection, and medium-payload cinematography drones. Before ordering, verify:
- Battery bay clearance: at least 190 × 73 × 60mm
- Connector: XT90S on your ESC
- Voltage: ESC rated for 6S 22.2V (25.2V max input)
What does 18C mean in real-world amperage? Is it enough for my drone?
18C continuous means a sustained 288A (16Ah × 18C), with a peak burst up to 576A (36C).
For a typical 8"–12" 6S industrial build with 300–800KV motors and a 100–150A ESC, 288A continuous covers full throttle with comfortable margin. Most 8"–10" hexacopter spraying drones draw 80–150A at full throttle — this pack handles that without approaching its limit.
If your platform draws sustained peaks above 288A (e.g., a 12"+ heavy-lift octocopter at full throttle), a higher-C pack would be more suitable.
Is this an HV battery? Will my standard 6S charger work?
This is a standard 6S pack — 3.7V per cell, 22.2V nominal, 25.2V full charge. It is not HV (3.8V/cell) or Ultra-HV (3.85V/cell).
You use a normal 6S LiPo charger (25.2V max). No special charger mode needed. It is fully compatible with standard 6S ESCs.
Do not confuse this with the 22.8V HV or 23.1V Ultra-HV packs in our lineup — those require their own matching chargers and are incompatible with standard 6S hardware.
What are the recommended charge settings?
- Charger mode: 6S LiPo (4.20V/cell max, 25.2V)
- Charge rate: 1C (16A) for daily use; 2C (32A) maximum for quick turnaround
- Balance voltage: 4.20V/cell
- Discharge cutoff: 3.30V/cell minimum — do not discharge below this
At 1C (16A), a full charge from empty takes approximately 55–65 minutes. Avoid sustained 3C+ (48A+) charging — it accelerates cell aging and reduces total cycle life.
How long will it last in flight?
With 364.8Wh of energy and 288A continuous capability, typical endurance on an 8"–12" 6S industrial platform (3–6kg AUW including payload) is approximately 30–50 minutes, depending on:
- Prop size and motor KV: larger, lower-KV props (e.g., 12×6 on 300KV) favor the upper end
- Payload weight: a 10L spraying tank or 2kg camera rig pushes toward the lower end
- Throttle profile: steady cruise vs. frequent full-throttle maneuvers
- Wind and altitude: headwind and high altitude increase current draw
A light 3kg survey build in calm conditions will trend toward 45–50 min; a 6kg spraying build in crosswind will trend toward 30 min. Actual flight time varies with your specific configuration — treat these as planning estimates.
What’s in the box? Can I change the connector to something else?
- 1× PCEONAMP 22.2V 16000mAh 6S LiPo battery (Model: XY160186XT), XT90S plug pre-soldered
- 1× JST-XH 7-pin balance lead
The XT90S plug is factory-soldered to 8AWG silicone power leads. If your ESC uses a different connector (XT60, Anderson, Deans, etc.):
- Use an XT90S-to-X adapter (simplest, no soldering)
- Cut the XT90S and re-solder your preferred connector — 8AWG gauge supports up to ~250A sustained, which matches the 18C rating
If you’re not comfortable soldering, an adapter is the safe route.
How is this different from the 22.8V 16000mAh HV pack?
Both packs share the same capacity (16000mAh), weight (1743g), and size (190 × 73 × 60mm). The only differences:
- This pack (22.2V): 3.7V/cell standard platform, 25.2V full charge, 18C continuous, works with any standard 6S charger and ESC
- HV pack (22.8V): 3.8V/cell HV platform, 26.1V full charge, 15C continuous, requires an HV-rated charger and ESC
In short: if your drone is already set up for standard 6S (which most are), this 22.2V pack is the one you want. The HV pack is for builds specifically designed around the higher cell voltage.
