Frequently Asked Questions

Is this battery compatible with my 1/18 RC buggy or truck?

Yes, if your vehicle uses a 7.4V (2S) LiPo battery with a T Plug (Deans T) connector and the battery bay fits 54 × 29 × 18mm. Specifically designed for 1/18-scale high-speed 4WD RC buggies, truggies, and sport cars, including models such as HX8, BEZGAR, and similar 1/18-scale RC vehicles. Verify voltage, bay dimensions, and plug type before ordering.

Is this battery compatible with the SCX24 or FCX24 Atlas?

No. The SCX24 uses a PH2.0 plug and the FCX24 Atlas uses a Molex plug. This pack uses a T Plug (Deans T), which is a completely different connector — different pin spacing, different housing shape. Even though the voltage (7.4V), capacity (1150mAh), and dimensions are identical, the plug will not fit. For the SCX24, order our 2S 1150mAh PH2.0 version. For the FCX24 Atlas, order our 2S 1150mAh Molex version.

What is a T Plug (Deans T)? How is it different from PH2.0, Molex, JST, or XT30?

The T Plug, also called Deans T, is a two-pin connector with a distinctive T-shaped housing and a locking mechanism. It is NOT interchangeable with PH2.0 (2.0mm pin pitch, flat housing), Molex (standard Molex housing), JST (wider housing, different pin spacing), XT30 (different two-pin shape), or any other plug type. The easiest way to identify: remove the stock battery from your car, look at the plug housing — a Deans T has a wide, flat top that forms a “T” shape. If it does not look like that, this pack will not fit.

What does 40C burst / 20C continuous mean for this battery?

40C burst means the pack can safely deliver approximately 46A for short durations (3–5 seconds) during full-throttle acceleration, hard cornering exits, or sprint runs. 20C continuous means it safely sustains approximately 23A during steady-state driving on flat or rolling terrain. For 1/18-scale 4WD RC buggies with typical toy-grade ESCs (drawing 10–20A), this comfortably covers the full power range with headroom for short burst loads.

How do I charge this battery?

This pack includes a USB charger cable. Plug one end into a USB power source (wall adapter, power bank, or PC USB port rated 5V / 1A minimum) and the other into the car’s charging port or directly into the battery’s T Plug connector. Full charge at 1C (~1.15A) takes approximately 60 minutes. Do not leave unattended while charging.

Can I charge this with a LiPo balance charger instead of the USB cable?

No. This is a 2S toy-grade LiPo pack with a T Plug, not a balance-lead LiPo battery. A standard 2S LiPo balance charger (with JST-XH or XT60 leads) will not fit the Deans T connector on this pack. Use the included USB charger cable.

How long does the battery last per charge during actual driving?

A 1150mAh 2S pack at 20C continuous (~23A) will last roughly 8–18 minutes of mixed driving depending on terrain, motor load, and throttle usage. On flat ground with moderate throttle, expect the longer end; on continuous full-throttle sprint runs, sharp cornering at high speed, or driving on loose gravel, expect the shorter end. If the pack drains in under 4 minutes consistently, contact us for a warranty check.

How many charge cycles can I expect?

Under normal use with proper practices (avoid deep discharge below 6.0V, store at 40–60% charge), expect up to 200 cycles before noticeable capacity fade. For daily use with a 1/18 RC buggy, this translates to roughly 6–12 months of regular play. If your pack is still holding charge past 150 cycles, it is performing within spec.

Is this battery suitable for 1/10-scale RC cars?

No. 1/10-scale RC cars typically use 3S (11.1V) or 4S (14.8V) batteries with significantly higher capacity (3000mAh+) and connectors such as XT60, Deans T (larger gauge), or IC3. This 2S 7.4V pack does not provide the voltage or current headroom required for 1/10-scale motors and ESCs.

Can I use this battery in other RC vehicles?

Yes, if the vehicle uses a 7.4V (2S) LiPo battery with a Deans T plug and the battery bay fits 54 × 29 × 18mm. It works with other 1/18-scale 4WD buggies, truggies, and sport cars that use a T Plug. It is NOT suitable for 1/24-scale crawlers (which use PH2.0 or Molex plugs) or 1/10-scale vehicles (which require higher voltage and capacity).

Is it safe to leave the battery in the car when not in use?

For short periods (same day), yes. For overnight or longer storage, remove the battery from the car and store it at 40–60% charge in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Do not store fully charged or fully drained for extended periods — both accelerate capacity fade.

What comes in the box?

2× 2S 1150mAh 7.4V 40C LiPo batteries (T Plug), 1× USB charger cable, 1× retail carton, 1× user manual.
