Frequently Asked Questions
What drone platforms is this 23.1V 10000mAh battery designed for?
This battery is sized at 170 × 57 × 50mm and weighs 1130g, positioning it for medium-size 6S industrial and FPV drone builds — typically 7"–10" class quad, hexa, or octocopters. The XT90S plug connects directly to standard 6S ESCs (XT90/XT90S input). Common use cases include agricultural spraying, mapping, inspection, and medium-payload cinematography.
If your frame’s battery bay is smaller than 170 × 57 × 50mm or uses a different connector (e.g., XT60), an adapter or different pack may be needed.
What does 15C mean in real-world amperage? Will it handle my drone’s current draw?
15C continuous means a sustained 150A (10Ah × 15C), with a peak burst up to 300A (30C).
For a typical medium 6S industrial build with 1,500–3,000KV motors and a 60–120A ESC, 150A continuous covers cruise and moderate throttle with comfortable margin. If your platform draws sustained peaks above 150A — for example, a 10" quad with high-KV motors doing aggressive FPV or a heavy 5kg+ spraying drone at full throttle — a higher-C pack would be more suitable.
This is 3.85V/cell. How is that different from a standard 6S battery, and will my charger work?
This is an Ultra-HV pack — 3.85V per cell, 23.1V nominal, 26.1V full charge. It is not the same as a standard 6S pack (3.7V/cell, 22.2V, 25.2V full).
- A standard 6S charger outputs 25.2V max. If you use it on this pack, it will undercharge — the battery will work but with reduced capacity.
- A 22.2V or 22.8V HV charger will also undercharge.
- You need a charger rated for 6S Ultra-HV (26.1V / 4.35V per cell max). Most modern smart chargers (iCharger, SkyRC, HOTA) have a “6S HV” or “6S Ultra-HV” mode — select that before charging.
On the ESC side, most 6S ESCs tolerate 26.1V input, but verify your ESC’s max voltage rating before connecting. If your ESC is rated “25.2V max” only, it may not be safe at 26.1V.
What are the recommended charge settings?
- Charger mode: 6S Ultra-HV (4.35V/cell max)
- Charge rate: 1C (10A) for daily use; 2C (20A) maximum for quick turnaround
- Balance voltage: 4.35V/cell
- Discharge cutoff: 3.50V/cell minimum (do not discharge below this)
At 1C (10A), a full charge from empty takes approximately 60–70 minutes. Avoid sustained 3C+ charging — it accelerates cell degradation and reduces long-term cycle life.
How long will it last in flight?
With 231Wh of energy, typical endurance on a medium 6S industrial platform (7"–9" hexacopter, 3–5kg AUW including payload) is approximately 25–40 minutes, depending on prop size, motor efficiency, payload weight, throttle usage, and wind conditions.
A light 2.5kg survey build in calm conditions will trend toward 40 min; a 5kg+ spraying build in crosswind will trend toward 25 min or less. Actual flight time varies with conditions — treat these as planning estimates, not guarantees.
What’s in the box? Is the XT90S plug replaceable?
- 1× PCEONAMP 23.1V 10000mAh 6S HV LiPo battery (Model: XY100156XT), XT90S plug pre-soldered
- 1× JST-XH 7-pin balance lead
The XT90S plug is factory-soldered to 8AWG silicone power leads. If your ESC uses a different connector (XT60, Anderson, Deans, etc.), you have two options:
- Use an XT90S-to-X adapter (simplest, no soldering)
- Cut the plug and re-solder your preferred connector — 8AWG gauge supports up to ~150A sustained
If you’re not comfortable soldering, stick with XT90S and use an adapter on the ESC side.
